4.RECEIVE YOUR SALVATION
"But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His Name..."(John 1:12)
"But what does it say? The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart (that is, the word of faith which we preach): that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the Scriptures says, "Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame."...For whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved." (Rom. 10:8-11,13)
In as instant we could be standing before God facing judgment. Because all of us will die and because all of us have sinned, our mistakes and broken lives hang helplessly from a tree of shame before a Holy God.
The day is coming when we will all have to give an account of our lives. Now is the time to be honest with yourself. You have no guarantee of tomorrow and RIGHT NOW Jesus Christ could take you from the tree of shame and give you the tree of life.
"And he showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding from the throne of God and of the Lamb. In the middle of its street, and on either side of the river, was the tree of life,...And there shall be no more curse, but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it, and His servants shall serve Him. They shall see His face, and His name shall be on their foreheads. There shall be no night there; They need no lamp nor light of the sun, for the Lord God give them light. And they shall reign forever and ever."(Rev. 22:1-2a,3-5)
This beautiful picture of heaven is reserved for only those who have repented from their sins and have asked Jesus Christ to be the Savior and Lord of their lives.
"Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me."(John 14:6)
If you want to be on the right road, only Jesus Christ can take you from the tree of shame to the tree of life. Why not pray this prayer right now and know forever, that you belong to God.
"Lord Jesus, I recognize that my sins have separated me from you and that my life is nothing more than a tree of shame. Lord, I also know that You gave Your life to save me from my sins. I confess my sins to You and also confess my faith in You as my Lord and Savior. I believe by faith that God raised You from the dead and that whoever calls on You will never be put to shame and will be saved. Please come into my life, Lord Jesus, and save me. Take this tree of shame from me and allow me access to the tree of life. I love you Lord Jesus and thank you for saving my soul."
The tree of shame, in Deals Gap Tennessee, is a monument to mistakes. Broken pieces of motorcycles hang from the tree showing what can happen when a good day goes bad in an instant. No one plans to be part of that monument...it just happens.
So...what about your life?
ROAD TO RCEONCILIATION
TO AVOID THE TREE OF SHAME AND PUT YOURSELF ON THE RIGHT ROAD TOWARD GOD YOU MUST:
1.RECOGNIZE WHERE YOU ARE.
"Then the Lord God called to Adam and said to him, "Where are you?" So he said, "I heard Your voice in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; and I hid myself." And He said, "Who told you that you were naked?"(Gen. 3:9-11)
Why
did the all knowing God of creation ask Adam these questions? These are questions that Adam needed to ask himself. Namely, "Where am I', and "Who am I listening to?"
Every journey has a starting place. You must be honest with yourself about where you are and who you are listening to. You are separated from God by your sin and no matter what anybody says, you can never be good enough to stand next to a Holy God on your own.
"There is none righteous, no, not one; There is none who understands; There is none who seeks after God. They have all turned aside;"(Rom. 3:10-12)

2. SEE GOD'S RESPONSE.
"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life."(John 3:16)
"But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."(Rom. 5:8)
These two verses show God's response to your desperate situation. It is the picture of an heroic rescue where Christ sacrifices His own life that He might save yours. To save you from a tree of shame, Christ was crucified on a tree of shame and paid the price for our sins.
3. REPENT!
"I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish."(Luke 13:3)
"Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent..."(Acts 17:30)
To repent means that you are turning from your sin and self and trusting in Christ alone for your rescue. If we don't repent, according to the Bible, we will live a life of shame and then spend eternity in the fires of Hell. As the sign on the tree of shame states; "No gain... and a lot of pain!!!!
